Winter wheat Magnezja

Magnezja is a bread variety of winter wheat characterised by high and stable crop yields, as proven by the COBORU register studies conducted in 2022–2023. At the agrotechnical level a1, the yields reached 103% of the standard, while at a2 level

Magnezja scored 104-105% compared to the standard. The variety has very good adaptability in the varied climatic and soil conditions of Poland. It is recommended for cultivation throughout the entire country. The plants are of medium height with stiff straw, with very good resistance to lodging at the milk stage and full maturity. Magnezja stands out thanks to its high health profile, especially regarding major diseases such as yellow or brown rust, Fusarium wilt and septoria. Disease resistance has a significant impact on grain yield and technological value of the grain.

This offers the opportunity to reduce the amount of plant protection products used. The good winter hardiness (3.5) of the variety reduces the risk of loss caused by frost. This latest variety from Poznańska Hodowla Roślin has a stable yield at different
sowing standards.

Warunki glebowe	Pszenica jest gatunkiem o najwyższych wymaganiach glebowych spośród wszystkich gatunków zbóż, jednak ma pewną tolerancję na jakość gleby. Najlepiej plonuje na stanowiskach żyznych, próchniczych o klasie bonitacyjnej I–III b. Można uprawić na glebach słabszych, ale trzeba liczyć się ze spadkiem plonu oraz większym zużyciem nawozów mineralnych.
Miejsce w płodozmianie	Pszenicę najlepiej siać po roślinach bobowatych, rzepaku oraz burakach cukrowych. Ze względu na przenoszone choroby nie powinno się uprawiać po zbożach, za wyjątkiem odmian tolerancyjnych na uprawę w monokulturze (wysoka odporność na choroby grzybowe).
Nawożenie mineralne	W zależności od zasobności, rodzaju gleby i przedplonu wymaga nawożenia: • fosforem – 70–100 kg P₂O₅/ha • potasem – 80–140 kg K₂O/ha
Nawożenie azotowe	W zależności od przedplonu, żyzności i rodzaju gleby należy zastosować dawkę azotu w granicach 150–180 kg/ha, natomiast przy intensywnej uprawie i na cele konsumpcyjne można zastosować 180–200 kg N/ha. Nawożenie azotowe można zastosować w następujących dawkach: dawka przedsiewna – do 20 kg N/ha na słabszych stanowiskach I dawka w okresie rozpoczęcia wegetacji – 60–90 kg N/ha – wyższe dawki zastosować w przypadku słabo rozkrzewionej pszenicy ozimej II dawka w okresie strzelania w źdźbło – 40–60 kg N/ha III dawka w okresie kłoszenia – 30–40 kg N/ha
	Pamiętać trzeba również o wapnowaniu – najlepiej rośnie na glebach o odczynie pH 6–7. Pszenica bardzo dobrze reaguje na nawożenie dolistne miedzią i manganem. Niedobory tych mikroelementów silnie wypływają na kondycję roślin oraz jakość i wysokość plonu.
Termin siewu i ilość wysiewu	Nasiona przed siewem należy zaprawić preparatami dostępnymi na rynku. Optymalne terminy siewu pszenicy ozimej w Polsce zaczynają się 15 września w północno-wschodniej części kraju, a kończą się 16 października w południowo-zachodniej. Obsada roślin waha się w zależności od odmiany i wynosi od 300 do 450 roślin/m². Ilości wysiewu oscyluje w przedziale 140–170 kg/ha – jest to uzależnione od MTZ, siły kiełkowania i terminu siewu. Soil conditions	Wheat is the species with the highest soil requirements among all types of grains, however, it has some tolerance to soil quality. It yields the best in fertile, humus sites of valuation class I-III b. It can be cultivated on poorer soils, but you have to take into account a drop in yield and a higher consumption of mineral fertilizers.
Place in crop rotation	Wheat is best sown after legumes, rape and sugar beets. Avoid sowing on other grains because of the diseases that are transmitted. It should not be grown after cereals, except for varieties that are not sensitive to monoculture.
Fertilization	It requires high fertilization with macro and microelements. Depending on the soil fertility, it requires fertilization:
	with nitrogen – 160-200 kg N / ha
	phosphorus – 70-100 kg P₂O₅ / ha
	potassium – 80-140 kg K₂O / ha
	Liming must also be remembered – it grows best in soils with a pH of 6-7. Wheat responds very well to foliar fertilization with copper and manganese. Deficiencies of these micronutrients strongly affect the condition of plants as well as the quality and amount of the crop.
Sowing date and sowing amount	Before sowing, seeds should be treated with preparations available on the market. Optimal sowing dates for wheat in Poland begin on September 15 in the north-eastern part of the country and end on October 16 in the south-west. The plant density varies depending on the variety and ranges from 300 to 450 plants / m². The sowing rates are fluctuating within a range 140-170 kg / ha – it depends on TGW, germination strength and sowing date.
